Termina exists now
We make deep strategy and life simulations. One game is in development — Political Life — and this site is where it gets talked about.
What we're building
A political life simulation. You start in your thirties as an outsider with no organization and no name, one week passes per turn, and you play until you die. The game never shows you how long that is.
Three things make it what it is:
- Bills are assembled from parts. A target, a means, a funding source. Thousands of combinations, none of them clean — every one of them loses you somebody.
- The record is permanent. Favours, cover-ups, promises kept. All of it goes in a file, and the file is what a prosecutor opens twenty hours of play later.
- There is no win condition. Reaching the top is a rung, not an ending. The score is an obituary.
Where it is
Systems are done and playable end to end — turns, health and hidden lifespan, the legislative assembler, elections, factions, the press, the Red File, trials, endings. The engine runs on a pure C# core with a full test suite behind it, and the game content lives in data files, so writing more game doesn't mean writing more engine.
Art and audio are the current front. That means no release date yet, and we're not going to invent one.
How we'll post
Development notes and patch notes go to Dispatches as they happen. There is no newsletter, no account, and nothing that asks for your email. When there's a Steam page, it will be linked from the game page and nowhere else.
